After 2 years of negotiating, Components 1 & 2 reached a tentative deal with the Employer Friday evening, subject to ratification.

The deal includes a wage increase of 4% over the last two years of the four year contract (0-0-2-2).

Component 1’s wage increase will be structured as four 1% increases in September 1 2012, March 1, 2013, September 1, 2013, and March 1, 2014. The savings that accrue from structuring it in that way will be put towards professional development for Teaching Assistants.

Component 2’s wage increase will be structured as 2% -November 1, 2012 and 2% September 1, 2013.

The Local will be taking the agreement to the Component 1 and 2 members November 15 & 16 for a ratification vote (the original dates of the 13th & 14th conflict with reading break).
